What a year it has been. Haltingly, we've made our way through a global pandemic and as vaccination rates climb and infection rates fall (at least in our area of the world), it feels possible to envision a future when we can once again experience the beautiful sounds of great music, arriving to our ears not through headphones or loudspeakers, but through the air, generated by strings, pipes, and vocal folds. Of course, we don't know exactly what will happen in the coming months, so we'll have to stay flexible, but we've already begun planning for the 2021–2022 concert season and we'll announce those dates in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, please take care of yourself. We look forward to welcoming you (in person or online) very soon, to experience beautiful music in a beautiful space.

Alexander Kobrin

Sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven

Internationally acclaimed pianist, winner of the 2005 Van Cliburn Competition, and professor of piano at the Eastman School of Music. He is in the middle of a monumental project to record all of Beethoven's pianos sonatas, recording the works in the beautiful acoustic of the Spencerville Church, and he has graciously agreed to play this recital after a long week of recording. It gives us a way to dip a somewhat cautious toe back into the world of live concerts and, if you're comfortable, we hope you will join us.
